#3in30 Update: February Week 2

This has been a difficult week.  Two seconds ago I was willing the tears NOT to spill out of my eyes. I am grateful that I am involved with 3in30, because the goal of scrapbooking helped to heal my battered heart after the second night in a row with horrible, horrible exchanges with my five year old son.  I am worn down and weary, and wondering what the future will be like if he is acting this way now.  And — the goal of scripture memorization with Stephen  reminds me that so much of the battle is unseen. And to get out of my head, and my heart  - – and get on my knees in prayer.

How’s that for an intro?

Goal #1: Scrapbooking

Details: To take pictures every week, and then create a digital scrapbook layout with the new pictures.

These two layouts were done using the My Digital Studio software. I am still rockin’ the free trial, and I am finding more and more that I love about it.

Working on these layouts helped me to focus on the good, and let go of the bad. And to remember that these boys are a gift.  And that I have a responsibility, to do to right.  . . to raise them for the Lord. To not back down when it is hard.

Who would have that working on a scrapbook page would re-affirm all that??  :)

Goal #2: The Must Love God Community Launch

It went off without a hitch!  I think we have a pretty good system in place that ensures privacy, and encourages communication. I am loving the interaction that we have been seeing.

GOD IS SO GOOD.  I can’t go into specifics, but – - – if I had hesitated about moving forward with switching the forum over to facebook, then we would have missed an incredible opportunity to be the body to each other in a very time sensitive situation.  It was amazing!

Goal #3: Scripture Memorization with Stephen

In addition to:

Colossians 3:20, Romans 3:23, John 3:16 and Psalm 46:10

We added:

Proverbs 3:5 and Philippians 4:13

And as I go through the list, His word is ministering to me:

Meredith, my child, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God – you included. Be still, and know that I am God in the middle of these difficult times with your son. And remember that he is mine.  Lean not in your own understanding. Trust me. You can do this. I am with you, and I will give you the strength to get through these times.

Wow.

So yes.

I am grateful to 3in30 because an hour ago I felt defeated, and scared of the future. And in writing this update, I have been encouraged by my Father.  This might make the list of “best blogging experiences ever!”

How are you doing on your goals? Can you believe we are already on the second half of February??

  1. Meredith,

I’m really intrigued by My Digital Studio, but not thrilled that they charge $10 more to Canadians! Our dollars have been at parity for a long time now. Your layouts, however, are stunning. I always found scrapbooking therapeutic as well. So nice to look back on those moments, and our scrapbooks are our children’s treasures as we’ve traveled around and been away from family so much.

I need to do some catching up myself!

So sorry you’ve been having a rough time with your little guy. I’ll be praying for you. I emailed you also.

      Thank you so much!
You know what? My Digital Studio really is not that much different than My Memories Suite. They are spookily similar! AND — I have a coupon code in my sidebar that gets you $10 off the normal $39.99 price. (Not sure if the price is different for canadians!) But — it is quite a difference in price tag, and I am realizing that I will be QUITE happy with the program, especially now that I have learned that my online browsing that I THOUGHT was keeping me sane while waiting for the program to work was actually MAKING the program slower.

I got your email. It touched my heart. You will definitely hear from me!

Isn’t this tool wonderful for refocusing when the moment you are in feels so overwhelming!!!

Your scrapbook pages are beautifully done. I don’t scrapbook near as much as I should but am determined to do at least one page a month.

Keep up the diligent work in having your littles hide Gods word in their heart.

Sounds like a wonderful week with a hiccup…
