February: A New Month. A New Opportunity.

3in30 I'm In!!January was the month of easing back into a routine.  December was the month where I lost it completely. I have been feeling very overwhelmed lately.  So I picked goals for January that would be easy to maintain. Easy to achieve. But- not pointless goals.

Using my planner each and every day has helped me to stay focused and accomplish a lot of the work related and blog related goals that I had for the month. I now start to get a little twitchy if I am at my desk and I can’t see it out of the corner of my eyes.  Keeping up with scrapbooking has made me savor the moments with my kids, and enjoy them at these ages.  Learning how to say no and what to let go of is incredibly useful and has helped me to get through feelings of the green-eyed monster.  (I’m all for being authentic, but there are some things that don’t need to see the light of day. Just know that my Heavenly Father has been gently reminding me that I am doing an important work, and I can not come down.) (Referencing the story of Nehemiah.)

I am also setting goals with my friends over at Must Love God, trying to finally, for the LAST TIME, for goodness’ sake, get a handle on my health.  So I have a lot of goals. A lot of things.  Soul searching, writing, parenting, praying, partnering, teaching, church planting, housekeeping.  When I start listing out everything that I am involved with, I start feeling completely and crazily overwhelmed.   But then I just focus on my next task. The next thing that I have to do, and then I am alright.  I ask the Lord if He wants me to let go of some of the things that I am doing, and I have not felt the release to let go of anything. So He just increases my strength, and lengthens my days, and inspires me, and gives me words, and empathy, and the inspiration to do everything that I need to do.

(This must be the longest introduction to goals that anyone has ever written.)

Enough with the drama. On to the goals, Woman!

Goal 1:  You guessed it.  Scrapbooking. (You didn’t think I was serious when I said I would keep this goal all year??  Silly you.)

Take pictures of the boys each week. Do a one page (or more) layout with new pictures each week, using My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software.  Like this one:

Goal 2: 28 Days to Hope for Your Home

I am SO excited that I won one of the copies of this ebook during the recent 3in30 giveaway! This is an area that I get so overwhelmed in.  I am really excited about reading it, and hopefully finding the energy and wherewithall to actually do something about the perpetual state of chaos in which we reside.

Goal 3: Continue working with Stephen on scripture memorization

Armed with the fabulous resources in Tammy Wollner’s new ebook, Keeping His Way Pure,  I have been able to introduce memorizing the Word of God with my precious son.  My precious son who I really did not recognize over the weekend and on Monday when we battled with the worst behavior and manipulation tactics that I have ever seen from him.  It was scary bad.  After three days of working on memorizing God’s truths, the change has been dramatic.  I am not expecting that this is going to prevent any and all misbehaving, but I know now how to show him the right way.

There you have it, friends.  New goals for a new month.  What are you going to achieve in the next 29 days? Um. 27 days? (It’s already the 2nd, after all. . .)

    M – I hear ‘so much of me in you’ many years ago…and that was even before these ‘time-saving computers’! I KNOW Overwhelmed…and serving the Lord, Hon…and all the rest (except the weight problem, but there were different issues…) Just one-day-at-a-time… As far as your son…been there/done that – with my daughter…love and patience…lots of prayers…for years… I know I’m not much Help, but I hope that ‘just understanding’ might encourage you… ;-}
